Challenge and Classic Soccer Program
The WCWAA Challenge and Classic program continues to grow and excel in North Carolina's competitive soccer environment. Tryouts at the Optimist Park are published each spring and are a one-year commitment consisting of a fall and spring season.
All our coaches are NSCAA certified and teams work with trainers during practices to improve their individual skills as well as the developing an understanding of the game as a team.
Training/practices will be twice a week and typically last for 1 to 2 hours. Games are scheduled through the Charlotte Area Youth Soccer League (CAYSL) for Challenge and North Carolina Youth Soccer League (NCYSA) for Classic/Premier.
This program was originally set up to allow those WCWAA Recreational Players looking to take their play to the next level; a promotional program, to advance their skills and play at a higher competitive level. Our program is however open to all players interested in trying out for one of these teams.
WCWAA also has affiliations with other Union County Soccer Associations enabling these clubs to offer Challenge and Classic level play through the WCWAA Challenge and Classic Programs: Weddington Soccer Association, Porter Ridge Athletic Association (PRAA), Piedmont Area Soccer Association (PASA), Indian Trail Athletic Association (ITAA) and Monroe Soccer Association (MSA).
